Funeral Services With Cremation

At Bohlender Funeral Chapel all cremations are conducted on-site by a member of our family, in our crematory.

Cremation is a process which is performed in a respectful and dignified manner and can be memorialized in many ways. Some families choose to keep cremated remains with them at home while others prefer to bury the cremated remains traditionally in a cemetery or a dedicated niche. Cremated remains can also be scattered over land or water. 

Bohlender Funeral Chapel offers several options for cremation:

1. Cremation with Embalming and a Funeral Service – A traditional funeral service with embalming and viewing in a rental casket is an option even when cremation will be the method for final disposition. The casket could be present at the funeral service and cremation would not take place until after the service has been concluded. Embalming is not required by law, except in special cases. However, embalming may be necessary with certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with a viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require this procedure, such as direct cremation.
2. Direct Cremation with No Embalming and a Memorial Service at Bohlender Funeral Chapel – In a Memorial Service the body is traditionally not present. Cremation usually takes place prior to the service. While no embalming will occur there can be an opportunity for a private family viewing.
3. Direct Cremation with No Embalming and a Church Service or Graveside Service - In this type of service the body is traditionally not present. Cremation usually takes place prior to the service. While no embalming will occur there can be an opportunity for a private family viewing. Bohlender Funeral Chapel is available to assist with this type of service but it is not mandatory.
